In the very early days of Expressvu's existence (94,95) it was owned by 4 different Canadian telecoms till one went bankrupt. Then Dish Network was selected to provide equipment and uplink equipment in '96.
Once Expressvu was fully launched in '97 it was known as Dish Network Canada, then it changed and became known as ExpressVu Dish Network and then just Expressvu, till 2000 when Bell took over full ownership and rebranded it to BellTV.
Back in the early days of the rom3 Bell systems came with a white smartcard with the dish logo in red and the words ExpressVu Dish Network also in red, I used to have one but it got looped by an ecm in an old 3200 I started testing Dish with.
To this day Dish network still uses Bells satellite Nimiq for some of it's programming.
