The Washington Capitals are the front-runners to win the 2016 Stanley Cup, according to sportsbooks monitored by Bovada. The Los Angeles Kings and Chicago Blackhawks are right up there, as well. The Boston Bruins? Not so much. Per Bovada, the Bruins entered Tuesday with 50-1 odds of hoisting the Cup and 28-1 odds of winning the Eastern Conference — both the longest of any team that has not yet been eliminated from playoff contention. Boston, which hosts the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night at TD Garden, is in what amounts to a three-team race for the East’s final two playoff spots. It trails the Detroit Red Wings by one point for the Atlantic Division’s final automatic berth and the Philadelphia Flyers by one point for the conference’s second wild-card spot. Bovada has the Bruins’ odds of reaching the postseason pegged at -190, compared to the Red Wings’ -180 and the Flyers’ -300. The B’s have lost seven of nine and will welcome the Red Wings to Causeway Street on Thursday in the second-to-last game of the regular season for both teams. Here is the full list of Stanley Cup odds for each team (teams not listed have been eliminated from playoff contention):

Washington Capitals: 17-4
Los Angeles Kings: 7-1
Chicago Blackhawks: 15-2
Anaheim Ducks: 8-1
Dallas Stars: 9-1
Pittsburgh Penguins: 9-1
St. Louis Blues: 9-1
San Jose Sharks: 16-1
New York Rangers: 18-1
Florida Panthers: 20-1
Tampa Bay Lightning: 20-1
Detroit Red Wings: 28-1
Minnesota Wild: 28-1
Nashville Predators: 28-1
New York Islanders: 28-1
Philadelphia Flyers: 28-1
Boston Bruins: 50-1

since this is the first time since 1970 (I think) that no Canadian teams made the playoffs, I, like many Canadians, have totally lost interest.

I would like to see the Blackhawks win or the LA kings.
The Dallas Stars I just can't stand ~ moving a hockey team from
Minnesota to Dallas TX? It just killed me !

Remember that at least half the players are still Canadians.
